back from vacation

Not really. Just went a little longer than usual without a posting.
"The Dark Leaves" is the newest full-length offering from Philly by-way-of Brooklyn mainstays Matt Pond PA. "The FreeEP" was the last proper release and that was over a year ago, which is what left me so curious and eager to hear their new directions in LP form. I'll be the first to say I sincerely miss the folkier sounds and string accompaniment that made "Emblems" and "The Green Fury" permanent playlist essentials, but this is about as undeniable as it gets. Dario's doing humidifier hits in his room with the shades drawn and this record playing on repeat while he hallucinates being a deer frolicking in a dewey meadow.
